Every Girl is A Princess

Our founder, Kelsey Walker fell in love with the 1995 film “A Little Princess” as a child and one line stuck with her.

“I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren’t pretty, or smart, or young. They’re still princesses.”

At Once Upon A Princess we give evey girl the ability to not just be a princess, but to feel like one.

Mentorship

As a color guard coach of young women and gender minorities, our founder understood the importance of not only peer-to-peer mentorship but the mentorship of young women to young girls. Kelsey’s daughter was just two years old when Kelsey started coaching and bringing her to practices. The team members taught her daughter the intangibles like self-confidence and leadership and the tangibles like asking before we touch other’s hair and how to carry herself when she performs.

Once Upon A Tiara combines both these principles by hiring young adults (including some team alumni!) to be Fairy Godmothers and mentors for the princess experiences and treating every young person how they deserve to be treated…like a princess.
